Rabbit and pest predator management in the Resort

**Please refrain from leaving village roads after dark tonight (Friday 24th November). As there will be rabbit control shooting across the resort including the aqueduct and all trails in the resort. Rabbit control shooting will conclude in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Saturday 25 November)**

We will also be continuing our efforts of controlling pest predators (feral cats and foxes).

It is important that Falls Creek Alpine Resort (FCAR) continues to progress the Rabbit Action Plan to control rabbits that pose a threat to our alpine environment and infrastructure. Feral cats and foxes prey upon native and threatened fauna within Falls Creek Alpine Resort and the surrounding Alpine National Park. As part of the ongoing integrated pest predator management program, Falls Creek Alpine Resort is also undertaking feral cat and fox control within the resort. Control operations will involve ground shooting by experienced contractors in a way that minimises disruption to the community.

When undertaking these works all areas of the Village will be accessed. If you would like more information about the rabbit action plan or to report a burrow, please see the environment page on the corporate website located here  or email FCAR at fcar@fallscreek.com.au.

Until these works finish, it is crucial that dog owners keep their dog under control at all times day and night when in the Village during this works period. Domestic dogs must be on a lead and not able to roam freely anywhere in the Village at any time.
