Bushfire Safety

Being surrounded by National Park, Falls Creek's natural environment places the Resort at potential risk during bushfire conditions.

Falls Creek features its own CFA Fire Station and crew and actively operates a bushfire management plan. However, like most parts of country Victoria, certain conditions can place the High Country at high risk of bushfire threat. It is the responsibility of the individual to ensure they are adequately prepared for fire danger when visiting a bushfire risk area. To make sure you can enjoy your visit to Falls Creek, yet be prepared in the event of a fire threat, the below resources are provided to assist individuals in their own bushfire survival planning whilst at the Resort or any country region.

About Fire Danger Ratings

The Fire Danger Rating tells you how dangerous a fire would be if one started.

It helps you to know when conditions are dangerous enough to put your bushfire survival plan in to action.

Ratings are forecast using Bureau of Meteorology data for up to four days in advance, based on weather and other environmental conditions such as fuel load.

The rating is your prompt to take action to stay safe.
