The Alpine Challenge is without doubt the toughest, most challenging, most spectacular and rewarding mountain trail run in Australia - if not the southern hemisphere, over four distances.
The 100 mile (160 kilometre) course takes in six major climbs with 7,600 metres of ascent and descent. Conquer Victoria's major peaks; including Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham, Mt McKay, Spion Kopje, Mt Nelse and Victoria's highest mountain, Mt Bogong, plus five river crossings.
Challenge yourself with the 100 kilometer course and over 4,000 meters of ascent and descent or the 60 kilometer course with 2,000 meters of ascent and descent.
For those undertaking the 42 kilometer run you will have only 900 meters of ascent - a great introduction to the Alpine Challenge, and for those starting out, they have three fully marked short courses of 10/16/25km.
Enter early this year as on-mountain accommodation will be limited.
