UPDATE JANUARY 2023**
MTB de Femme had temporarily moved locations to Mount Beauty for the 2023 event due to the BHP road landslide. Registration available here.
MTB de femme 2023, Falls Creek, has been locked and loaded for Saturday, 4th & Sunday, 5th March, having made a return to the events calendar earlier this year.
The event is all about getting more women riding the trails at Falls Creek in a friendly, fun, relaxing and safe environment. You will meet like-minded females, become a much more confident rider, and have a heap of fun in the process.
Participants can join for one day on Saturday or make a weekend of it. Passes include skills clinics, shuttles, a guided social ride and of course coffee to get you going. Riders will be able to self-rate their riding ability from a complete beginner who has never ridden a mountain bike on mountain bike trails through to advanced riders. Prices range from $109 to $349.
Weekend pass holders are invited to a screening of the inspirational Gutsy Girls Adventure Film Tour 2022 on Friday evening which is a must-see.
The resort will also have some new trails to ride which we can’t wait to try.
There is plenty of time in the schedule to catch up with fellow riders over a leisurely breakfast, lunch, post-ride drink and dinner.
We encourage participants to make a weekend of it and book accommodation in the resort so they can truly immerse themselves in a weekend away and focus on themselves and their riding.
‘After this year's successful return of the event, despite the horrendous weather conditions, you couldn’t wipe the smiles off the participants ‘ dirt-freckled’ faces. The comradery and connections made over the weekend were incredible’ says event founder, Jo Prothero.
Here’s what a few of this year's participants had to say:
- “Thanks for a wonderful event last weekend. I certainly was tired on Monday dragging myself back to work and am enjoying finding mystery bruises but haven't been able to take the smile off my face.”
- “Such a great weekend riding and exploring Falls Creek. The women were very supportive and friendly.
- “Always something to do or see. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves bikes!”
- “I had a blast at MTB de femme. It was great exploring a new destination with knowledgeable guides and meeting other awesome chicks from around the state and beyond. Lots to do on and off the bike."
The event is hosted by All Ride MTB, a mountain bike coaching, guiding and events company, founded by Jo Prothero, former Head of Marketing at Falls Creek Resort Management.
