Emergency Response in Falls Creek
Emergencies can happen at any time, with or without notice, which is why it is so important to be prepared. It is is helpful to understand what the emergency response in Falls Creek looks like should an emergency event unfold. Alpine Resorts Victoria has developed and maintains a Municipal Emergency Management Plan (as per the Emergency Management Act 2013) which will be enacted as emergency situations unfold. Falls Creek Alpine Resort has its ownresort-specific set of Emergency Management Operational Guidelines which inform the operational needs during an emergency. Each of us hold responsibility for ourselves and our actions in the event of an emergency and it is important that you take the time to make a plan prior to an emergency event unfolding (see the community Preparedness page for toolkits and plans).
In the event of an emergency, call 000.
WHAT HAPPENS IN FALLS CREEK?
There is no designated "Place of Last Resort" in Falls Creek, which is important to know if you have chosen to stay as part of your emergency action plan. If you elect to stay during an emergency, there is no guarantee that your life or possessions will be protected. Resources are limited and in relation to fire, we are reliant on a dedicated crew of CFA volunteers whose remit is to protect the village's critical infrastructure a priority. Falls Creek Alpine Resort is not a response agency, but rather a conduit to assist the various emergency mangement agencies with resources and equipment so that they, the agencies, can best protect the village.
