Cup Weekend Resort Access

Adverse Weather Conditions

 

Due to the forecast adverse weather conditions over the Melbourne Cup long weekend, and the resort operating under its Municipal Emergency Management Plan, Falls Creek Alpine Resort (FCAR) would like to advise that only local residents should access the resort this weekend.

 

Avoided Unnecessary Travel:

• We ask that you avoid traveling to Falls Creek this weekend
• Heavy rainfall is forecast (40mm+) across the weekend
• On Monday evening this will turn to snowfall and storm event until Wednesday evening with damaging winds predicted
• Non-residents should not visit Falls Creek this Cup Weekend due to the weather conditions and risks associated with travel during these adverse conditions

Road Clearing Operations:

• Clearing of the village road is not to be undertaken as the priority will be the access road to the resort for local residents and emergency services
