Child Care Manager – Permanent Full-time – Falls Creek Resort Management (FCRM)
Do you love the outdoors? Are you passionate about teaching young children in a natural environment? Now you can combine both!
A unique opportunity exists with Falls Creek Resort Management (FCRM) for a dynamic individual to join the team. Falls Creek Child Care and Bush Kinder is set in a unique environment in the heart of the Australian Alps in NE Victoria. As a small long day-care centre (16 places), catering from ages 12 weeks to 5 years, we believe children have the opportunity to learn from one another and grow in a family-like environment. We recognise and value the importance of children actively exploring, engaging and experiencing natural environments and wild spaces. The uniqueness of our centre requires a passionate and experienced individual who would manage the Child Care and Bush Kindergarten services on a daily basis.
Under direction of FCRM as the approved provider and in consultation with parents, educators and children, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating an engaging and meaningful program appropriate for the range of ages and learning needs and abilities. The program must reflect the centre’s philosophy – guided by nature pedagogy, community and sustainability – and be in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). You will also be required to provide a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for children and families; recruit, lead, motivate and support seasonal and permanent educators; oversee administrative requirements, including rostering, reporting, compliance and utilising Child Care financial and other systems, applications and portals; and assist in the development and review of policies, work practices, plans and other documents at both a strategic and operational level.
The ability to communicate effectively and relate with children, parents, educators and other professionals is essential and you will need to demonstrate a professional work ethic reflecting co-operation, flexibility and respect.
