Melbourne Further Lockdown Extension

This afternoon the Victorian Premier announced a further extension to the lockdown for Metropolitan Melbourne residents until 11:59pm Thursday 2nd September. To see the media release please CLICK HERE.

The stay at home orders remain in metropolitan Melbourne. Victorians living in metropolitan Melbourne are not permitted to travel to the Alpine resorts. Again, we are deeply saddened that we are not able to welcome back Metro Melbourne residents at this time. By staying away, for the time being, people living in Melbourne are helping keep the Alpine resorts safe and open.

Which local government areas are included in Metropolitan Melbourne?
Bayside, Banyule, Boroondara, Brimbank, Cardinia, Casey, Darebin, Frankston, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong, Hobsons Bay Hume, Kingston, Knox, Manningham, Maribyrnong, Maroondah, Melbourne, Melton, Monash, Moonee Valley Moreland, Mornington Peninsula, Nillumbik, Port Phillip, Stonnington, Whitehorse, Whittlesea, Wyndham, Yarra and Yarra Ranges.

 

Melbourne Residents in Regional Victoria

If a Melbourne resident was sheltering in place in regional Victoria at the commencement of the current lockdown from 8pm on Thursday 6th August 2021, they are able to stay in place for the duration of the lockdown but must only leave the place they are sheltering to return home or for one of the five permitted reasons. They are not able to travel freely around regional Victoria, including to alpine resorts.

We ask that everyone follows COVIDSafe practices - stay home and get tested if you feel unwell, practice good hygiene. Maintain physical distancing by staying 1.5 metres apart from people who do not live with you.
