Occasional Care (Guest Care)

Occasional Care (Guest Care) has been suspended for the 2025 season.

This decision is based on several key factors affecting our ability to provide the highest quality care and support to our community.

Key Reasons for the Change:

  • Maintaining Year-Round Enrolments: We are focused on meeting the community's needs by maintaining and increasing year-round enrolments. This ensures that families have access to consistent, high-quality care and education throughout the year.
  • Supporting Seasonal Working Families: We are working with local employers and families who work seasonally in the Falls Creek area. These families depend on our services to support their employment and contribute to the local economy.
  • Change in Demographics: The demographic of children attending our centre has shifted to a younger cohort that requires a higher level of care and support. This necessitates more focused attention and resources to ensure each child's needs are met effectively.
  • Nationwide Shortage of Qualified Staff: Like many early childhood education centres across Australia, Falls Creek is facing a shortage of qualified and experienced staff. This challenge limits our capacity to offer additional care services without compromising the quality of care provided to our enrolled children.
  • Kindergarten Reforms: Moving forward, services need to meet incoming requirements and offer extended hours to 3 and 4-year-old children in the years before school. These reforms are essential to ensure the provision of comprehensive early childhood education that aligns with government standards.
  • Financial Viability: Ensuring the financial viability of our service is crucial for its long-term sustainability. These changes will help us manage operational costs and continue providing high-quality care and education.

We acknowledge these changes to Occasional/Guest Care services may impact the guest experience. However, to support the community and businesses of the mountain and local area, these changes are necessary. Our primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and development of the children in our care, and to maintain the financial viability of our service for its long-term sustainability. Occasional Care may be offered on rare occasions, or under extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the responsible person in charge or manager. These places are subject to availability and require the enrolment packet to be returned in full and a booking fee paid in advance, in addition to the daily rate. We remain committed to providing exceptional care and education to our enrolled families and appreciate your understanding and support as we implement these changes.
