This is a true high country walk across the natural landscape of the sprawling Bogong High Plains and taking in terrain damaged by the 2003 and 2006 bushfires.
Start this moderate trail at the “Heathy Spur - Mt Nelse” sign beside the Bogong High Plains Road (about 500 metres past the Rocky Valley dam wall). Follow the walking track as it climbs gently through alpine herbfields and Snow Gums to Heathy Spur. The track then meanders through open grasslands and scattered Snow Gums with lovely views south across Rocky Valley dam and the high plains.
