Avalanche and Backcountry Awareness Presentation Night Falls Creek

    Falls Creek Ski Patrol are hosting an Avalanche Awareness and Back-country Presentation Night.

    This two hour presentation is aimed at giving you insight and awareness about avalanche and back-country safety. It will include information about planning a back country trip, the equipment you will need, how to identify avalanche terrain, and route decision making.

    The session will also cover avalanche rescue, snow pack analysis, how a beacon works and the basic search fundamentals of what to do if the worst happens to you.

    Included in the evening will be a screening of ‘Know before you go’ an education film from the Utah Avalanche Center, see the destructive power of avalanches, how people get in trouble, and the basics of how to avoid them, all through the eyes of avalanche professionals, pro athletes, accident victims, rescuers, and their peers.
