Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management Board (Resort Management) manages the www.fallscreek.com.au website (website). Below is the privacy policy for Resort Management as well as specific information which also applies to this website.
1. Resort Management is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information which we handle. Personal information is information which directly or indirectly identifies a person.
2. We collect and handle a range of personal information for the purposes of providing services or to carry out our statutory functions. We also collect some personal information for planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating our services and functions, but where practicable we remove identifying details from information used for these purposes.
3. In accordance with our responsibilities, the services and functions which we provide relate primarily to the areas of management, planning for the development, promotion and use of the Falls Creek Alpine Resort in accordance with the objects of the Alpine Resorts (Management) Act 1997.
4. We recognise that the nature of these services means that there is a possibility that some of the information we handle could be sensitive.
5. We recognise that privacy principles protect personal information both as a matter of individual right, and to support the public interest in ensuring Government can collect information necessary for its services.
6. We recognise the essential right of individuals to have their information handled in ways which they would reasonably expect - protected on the one hand and made accessible to them on the other.
7. These privacy values are reflected in and supported by our corporate behaviour.
8. We are bound by Victorian State privacy laws, the Information Privacy Act 2000, as well as other laws which impose specific obligations in regard to handling information.
9. We have adopted the respective Privacy Principles contained in the Victorian State’s privacy laws as minimum standards in relation to handling personal information.
In broad terms this means that we:
• Collect only information which we need for a specified primary purpose;
• Ensure that the person knows why we collect it and how we will handle it;
• Use and disclose it only for the primary or a directly related purpose, or for another purpose with the person's consent (unless otherwise authorised by law);
• Store it securely, protecting it from unauthorised access;
• Retain it for the period authorised by the Public Records Act 1973; and
• Provide the person with access to their own information and the right to seek its correction.

Resort Entry - Important Conditions of Purchase
|
1. The FALLS CREEK SEASON PERMIT is available to cars only (less than 13 seating capacity). An “Early Bird” discount is available where the purchaser has submitted a correctly completed application form and payment prior to 30 April 2009.
2. All Resorts Season Permit price includes the cost of a 2009 Falls Creek Resort Entry Season Permit. The All Resorts Season Permit shall only be accepted as valid when displayed with the valid resort specific season pass, both of which must bear the same vehicle registration number. This permit enables resort entry to Mt Hotham, Mt Buller, Mt Stirling, Mt Baw Baw and Lake Mountain, subject to each resort’s terms and conditions of entry, during season of issue.
3. The Season Permit entitles the nominated vehicle day and/or overnight resort entry access to Falls Creek Alpine Resort during the calendar year stipulated on the permit. This permit does NOT give you village access during the declared snow season.
4. One registration number only can be nominated per permit i.e. each vehicle requires an exclusive permit.
5. The permit must be permanently affixed to the nominated vehicle immediately after purchase. The permit must be clearly visible and affixed to the right hand bottom corner of the front windscreen (in front of driver), at all times. Failure to display the permit will result in imposition of an Infringement Notice.
6. The registration number on the permit must not be altered. No changes will be accepted. The permit is not transferable and if a breach of this condition is observed the permit may be withdrawn without refund.
7. The permit authorises parking for the nominated vehicle only. The vehicle is to be parked as directed by Falls Creek Resort Management staff. Vehicles parked incorrectly will be issued with an Infringement Notice and/or towed away.
8. Vehicles with valid Season Permits entering Falls Creek resort may use the entrance station express lane, however must stop if directed for permit verification.
9. Where the car is sold or the windscreen broken, the permit must be removed and the parts (especially the permit number) returned to Falls Creek Resort Management for issue of a replacement. A replacement permit will only be issued to a vehicle registered in the same name as the original permit and proof of ownership via registration papers must be produced. (A replacement fee of $20.00 will apply).
10. Privacy: Information collected when purchasing your permit is retained for relevant
winter seasons and used for referral purposes only. It is not provided or available to any other party and is appropriately destroyed when no longer required.
11. All signs must be observed at all times (including hours of darkness). No vehicle should be left in any position to cause an obstruction. The directions of an authorised officer must be promptly obeyed and observed and all regulations and the Alpine Resorts (Management) Act 1997 must be complied with.
12. By purchasing this Permit, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the above conditions. Furthermore, you acknowledge that Falls Creek Resort Management (including its servants and agents) will not be liable for any loss or damage caused to any vehicle, or anything in the vehicle except where it was caused by its (or its servants and agents) negligence.
13. RESORT ENTRY REFUND POLICY, it is the policy of Falls Creek Resort Management that there are no refund of monies collected for resort entry. However, under exceptional circumstances, Falls Creek Resort Management may approve a refund. Such approval can only be granted by the Manager Corporate Services and will only be considered on receipt of a written request. An administrative fee of $25.00 will be deducted from any refund. The decision of the Manager Corporate Services will be final and you will be advised of the outcome.

Consumer Data/Privacy Policy
1. We do not collect personal information when you visit our site unless you purchase one of our products or contact us via our web-based email form.
2. When you place an order you will be asked for the following personal information: your name, email address, mailing address, delivery address and phone number.
We may share this information, and only that information which is absolutely necessary, with those third parties that are involved in the processing of your order.
For example, the financial institution that issued your credit card and shipping carrier for delivery of your order.
3. We do not share, sell, rent or barter any identifiable personal information to any third party without your permission.
4. When you submit feedback or questions via email, we will request your name and email address. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiries.
5. We do not store your credit card details.

Accommodation Enquiry & Booking Requests

Enquiry and/or booking requests for accommodation on our site are sent to the respective Reservation Centre or accommodation provider as stated on each form. Falls Creek Resort Management and its authorised representatives are in no way responsible for the privacy practices of any third party recipients of information sent via forms on this website.

Newsletter Subscriptions
|
When requesting a free subscription to the Falls Creek newsletter, information collected will not be provided to any third party except authorised Falls Creek Resort Management representatives. Information is used to send newsletters and may be used from time to time to send other marketing and promotional material about Falls Creek. Users are able to opt out of receiving information by unsubscribing their contact details at any time.

Website statistics

Resort Management tracks some visitor information such as the number of times users visit pages within our website, the length of time spent within our website and other relevant information to assist us in statistical collection for analysis. Information collected in this manner is used in aggregate form only and no data which may identify individuals is collected. This information is used in decision making around the management and strategic direction of our website.

Surveys / Competitions

At various times Resort Management may conduct online competitions or surveys to assess specific issues, for example guest satisfaction. The type of survey questions asked may change however may include information such as age bracket, usual postcode of residence and ratings of various service levels, activities or events. All information provided remains confidential and will not be sold to third parties. High level aggregate data or non-personally identifiable information (for example guest feedback) may be shared with interested parties. Any contact information or personally identifiable data collected to verify or validate survey responses remains confidential unless otherwise agreed between Resort Management and the individual concerned (for example the name/s of competition winners).
