CHOOSING YOUR DATES

It can be difficult sometimes to know which time to visit so it is good to understand the benefits of different times of the season.

The declared season at Falls Creek runs from Queen's Birthday Weekend on June  9th through to Sunday October 7th. Snow conditions vary at different times of the season and costs can differ also depending on what time you visit.

To make things easy, a season can be broken into three periods - Low Season, Mid Season and Peak Season. You are most likely to get fresh snow in Peak Season, but you will also pay the most for accommodation. Low Season offers the best prices but snowfall is not as likely as Peak Season. Mid Season offers a mix of the two.

See the graph below for of when snow usually falls at Falls Creek to help guide your planning.

WHERE TO STAY

ACCOMMODATION

You will need somewhere to stay for your trip, whether staying in the thick of the village action or off-mountain at nearby Mount Beauty and Bogong Village. Falls Creek village is 100% ski-in ski-out in ideal peak snow conditions so staying in the village offers the greatest convenience for travel-free access to the snow. Mount Beauty offers another option with plenty of accommodation in the valley below, just 40 minutes drive away.

Different property types offer different advantages so figure out which suits you best then search available properties or contact our reservations team to secure your stay.

WHICH PROPERTY SUITS ME BEST?

HOTEL

Like a CBD stay but in the snow, these properties offer a serviced experience in a familiar hotel style format. Facilities can range from kitchenette and tea & coffee facilities to full size kitchens and often luxuries like private spas and balconies.

APARTMENT

A great option for large groups and those wishing to self cater with full kitchens often included as standard. Both serviced and self-contained apartments are available and for group sizes to 12 share or more.

LODGE

The classic snow experience, think large open fires and comfy couches in big communal spaces. Many lodges offer a fully catered experience with meals included by an in-house chef or you can choose to self cater at a lodge with communal kitchen facilities.

CAR PARKING INFORMATION

DAY CAR PARKING

During the snow season day car parking is available in The Gully, Slalom and Windy Corner Day Car Park areas. Visitors may self-park in these areas provided they are displaying a valid Resort Entry Permit. Vehicles left in day car park areas overnight risk being issued an infringement.

OVERNIGHT CAR PARKING

Vehicles staying overnight (or for a number of days) must be parked in specified overnight parking areas. Visitors must drive to the Accommodation Transfer Terminal and look for signage indicating "Overnight Parking Here".

Once vehicles are at the overnight parking waiting point, a member of staff will direct youto an available overnight car park. Self-parking is not permitted.

AFTER HOURS PARKING

For arrivals outside of normal operation (ie 3am), vehicles may be parked in the After-Hours parking area between the Accommodation Transfer Terminal and QT Falls Creek. This area is lit and signed. Visitors must return to their vehicle by 10:30am to move to an appropriate parking area per the above.

VILLAGE ACCESS

Between the dates of June 28 and September 10 (inclusive) Falls Creek village is closed to vehicles to allow for our unique ski-in ski-out environment. Outside of these dates, if the roads are clear of snow then vehicles are able to access the village for 30 minutes to pick up or drop off people and luggage at your accommodation. Please note, this is for the village roads only - the Bogong High Plains Road is cleared of snow daily and open to all vehicles 24/7.
