FCRM is the organisation accountable for the development, promotion, management, and use of Falls Creek Alpine Resort.

We currently have opportunities for passionate and experienced early childhood professionals to join our Child Care team. The successful candidates will have the chance to work in one of Australia’s most stunning alpine environments with above-award remuneration and staff benefits such as contributions towards ski lift tickets, a season’s resort entry car pass, gym membership and staff accommodation (subject to availability).

 

Falls Creek Child Care is a service that supports educators in the provision of high quality play based educational programs and environments for children. All of our programs are based on an emergent curriculum and are guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework (VEYLDF).

 

Falls Creek Child Care is located in the Falls Creek Alpine Resort. We are a 16 place Long Day Care with integrated Kindergarten catering for ages 12 weeks to 12yrs. In winter our daily bookings are a mix of year-round children, seasonal children and Guest children where ratio allows (Occasional Care). During the declared ski season, we operate Monday to Sunday, closed on public holidays. We are a family grouped centre with all children in the same space daily. Operating in such a unique environment means that our learning space and backyard is the wider resort and alpine environment, which we access year-round, rain, sun, or snow.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Approved ACECQA Qualification:
  • Bachelor of early childhood or;
  • Diploma of Children’s Services (or be working towards) or;
  • Certificate 3 in Children’s Services (or be working towards).
  • Valid Paid Victorian Working with children check.
  • Current First Aid certificate (Child Care -HLTAID012).
  • Current CPR certificate (HLTAID001).
  • Current Child Protection training.
  • Two contactable referees (one referee must be the current or most recent employer).

 

Please note that Falls Creek Resort Management follow the Victorian Chief Health Officers determination that COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of work for staff who work in the early childhood education and care industry.

 

Qualities we are looking for:

  • Have a genuine interest and passion for working with children and families.
  • An understanding of family grouping dynamics.
  • An understanding of tourism-based business.
  • The ability to build secure relationships quickly with guests and children.
  • High‐level verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to understand, record and communicate shared information a timely manner.
  • The flexibility required for working in a fast-paced environment, where no guest or day is the same.
  • Experience in participating in the programming and planning for children aged 0‐12 years (VEYLF knowledge preferred) and ability to observe and record children’s learning and development.
  • An understanding of infection control procedures and be able to implement them confidently.
  • Confidence or experience in working/ living in an alpine area in winter.
