Falls Creek was a buzz with smiles and excitement as the village woke this morning to steadily falling snowflakes and a white blanket over the village.
With the season almost 2 weeks old, eyes have been firmly kept on the forecast (with fingers crossed) as predictions of the first major fall of the season approached. Right on cue, Falls Creek has received 15cm of natural snow within the last 24 hours to transform the village into a winter wonderland overnight!
With things looking decidedly snowier, eager visitors and business operators are now hopeful that the cold conditions continue to deliver. This looks positive with forecasters predicting a potential further 50cm of snowfall over the next 7 days in what would be a perfectly timed boost to the existing coverage for Saturday’s commencement of the busy school holiday period.
For updates to conditions on the mountain and announcements on lifts and terrain be sure to check the snow report in the coming days.
