School holiday crowds are revelling in the great early season conditions as Falls Creek experiences its best start to the traditionally busy period in years.
Strong snow fall since last Tuesday has seen the natural snow depth jump to over half a metre by Friday afternoon. This set the scene for the opening of Wombats Ramble, Main Street and Drovers Dream on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. With these key beginner and intermediate areas open (along with a mini terrain park) it has been full steam ahead for visitors to get out and enjoy some spectacular sunny days across the weekend.
Today marks a further milestone with the Summit opening for ungroomed skiing. Ruined Castle and Sun Valley are the next areas projected to open in the days to come.
