Where is the Falls Creek Snowsports School and how do I get there?
Our Snowsports School is located at Cloud 9 which is at the top of the Falls Express Chairlift. The easiest and most
direct chairlift for beginners is the Falls Express Chairlift. If you are an intermediate skier and are coming from the Village Bowl, you can access via Eagle chair and ski/ board across to the Snowsports School.
What time and where do Adult ski or snowboard lessons meet?
Our Adult group lessons leave the meeting area at Snowsports School (Top of Falls Express - Cloud 9) at 10.00am, 12.00pm (beginners only) and 1.30pm. Please be at the meeting area 15 minutes prior for lesson organisation and grading.
What is the best ticket to purchase if I have never skied before?
The Falls Beginner ticket is a great way to get you up and running. The one day ticket gives you a beginner lesson for 1 hr 50 minutes and all day use of Falls Express Chairlift, Mousetrap and Boardwalk carpets.
If you are here for several days, the 3 or 5 day Learn to Ski/Board ticket gives you a beginner lesson for 1 hr and 50 minutes on the first day, followed by a progressive lesson the following day. Day one & two are restricted lift access on Falls Express, Drover’s Dream, Gully & Eagle Chair plus Mouse Trap, Monkey bar and Boardwalk surface lifts. From day three access to all lifts and terrain.
Do I need to book for private lessons?
Private lessons require an advanced booking. Private lessons are subject to availability and need to be paid for at time of booking. Please contact us on 03 5758 1071 or drop into the Snowsports School office (Cloud 9) to make a booking. How can I book for group lessons?
You can book online at the e-Store, at tickets, or through the Snowsports Office.
Can I learn to ski or snowboard with my child?
We offer family private lessons for those who would like to learn together. Family private lessons are for 2 adults, 2 children (6-14years). It is preferred all participants be a similar standard.
What lessons and programs are available for children?
Renault Snowclub (3-5 years old) - A great starting point for your child’s first skiing experience. Lessons are available for all levels from beginners to experienced skiers.
Junior Ski and Junior Shred (6-14 years old) - Lessons for young skiers and boarders with an emphasis on fun and safety while teaching essential skills.
Do I need to book for children’s programs or class lessons?
As lesson times & places are limited, early bookings are advisable.
Do I need to fill in a registration form for my child?
If your child is in the Snow Club 4 Kids program for 3-5 year olds you will need to fill in a registration form. Registration forms can be downloaded from this website or available from ticket outlets when you purchase your child’s ticket or
in the Snow Club 4 Kids centre. Please bring your completed Registration form with you when you drop your child off with us.
Should my child wear a helmet?
All participants in Kids Snowsports School Programs (Snow Club 4 Kids 3-5 yrs, Junior Workshop and Junior Shred 6-14 yrs and/or any Teenage Programs) must wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet. Helmets are available from Falls Creek Sports outlets and are FREE with rental equipment at these outlets.
All guest participants, of whatever age, in Snowsports School or other resort race programs, which involve or include terrain parks, pipes, skier/boarder cross and/or race courses will be required to wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet.
What do I need to bring for my children?
It is important that kids arrive dressed appropriately to enjoy their day skiing.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Children must be toilet trained to join our lesson programs. Nappies and pull ups are not accepted.
If my child is almost 3 years old, can they join the Snow Club 3-5 yr old program?
The Department of Human Services specifies that all children need to be at least 3 years of age and completely toilet trained to join our lesson programs. If your child is under 3 years old we can arrange a private lesson.
What meals are included in the program?
We offer a variety of hot and cold meals for the children’s program. Our current menu can be downloaded from this website.
Can you cater for my child’s food allergy?
We have gluten-free, lactose-free and vegetarian options. The kitchen used to supply meals for the Snowsports School. is NOT a nut free environment. Therefore ALL meals produced in this kitchen may contain nut traces. Please advise us of any food allergy your child may have, so that we can cater accordingly. We are unable to arrange any further alternatives for selective eaters; if the food listed on the menu is unsuitable, we recommend that you provide a packed lunch for them.
