AFL heavyweights the Collingwood Football Club have hit the ground at Falls Creek to commence their week-long pre-season training camp. Across the following week Collingwood's first to four year players will join coaches and fitness staff, staying and training at the village and surrounding terrain of Falls Creek resort.
This is the second straight year Collingwood have based their pre-season training at Falls Creek after a successful camp in November 2014.
Collingwood's coaching staff have predicted a physical workout for the squad at the 1650m+ altitude of the resort.
“It will be really be solid, physically, so we will get some fitness work into the boys at a bit of altitude, which has an effect,” senior assistant coachRobert Harvey told Collingwood Media.
“There will also be some leadership stuff as well, getting ourselves set for the year.
“We will set some goals and some targets for the guys to achieve over the pre-season and in-season.”
The Falls Creek camp will also mark the first official outing on the training track for new recruits James Aish, Adam Treloar and Darrean Wyatt.
