July 20,2015 In Snow

Back-country - it’s the word on every advanced skier and boarder’s lips wanting to get more out of their time at the snow. There is no doubt that Falls Creek offers some excellent terrain outside of the patrol ropes for those who know where to go, but are you prepared for the risks that are inherent in areas outside of the Ski Patrol zone.

Rather than simply advise against, Falls Creek Ski Patrol are making the move to equip keep back-country skiers, boarders and trekkers with a series of back-country awareness educational and practical sessions. These sessions could easily be the difference between making a life-saving decision or the alternative when presented with a risk situation off-piste.
