Falls Creek is proud to be Australia’s home of Cross Country with 65+ km of groomed trails free to access.
This Winter why not try your hand at cross country skiing? Heading off cross country is a great way to experience all that Falls Creek has to offer. Since removing trail fees in 2011, Cross Country Skiing has exploded in popularity as more and more visitors ‘go Nordic’ for the first time. As a fun, safe and easy to learn activity, ‘XC’ is something the whole family can try together.
Falls Creek is known as the home of Australian Cross Country Skiing for good reason. Not only is it home base for the Australian National Team but it also has one of the most expansive trail networks of any resort in the country. Through 65km of groomed trails you can gain access to corners of the Bogong High Plains rarely seen by most visitors. Take in breathtaking panoramic views across the vast plains, deep valleys, snowy mountains and majestic Rocky Valley Lake. This is the pristine High Country at its best.
You don’t need a lift pass to get on the trails so cross country is an excellent way to experience the snow on a budget. A purpose-built instruction and training area is also on hand to make the sport more accessible than ever.
