These are the answers to some common questions around using the Accommodation Transfer Service
DO I NEED TO USE THE A.T.S?
Depending on where you are staying in the village you may want to consider using the Accommodation Transfer service. It all depends on how accessible your accommodation is and what you need to transport.
Falls Creek village is quite easy to get around via our fast-track walkways but there are some steep roads and stairs that may make things difficult if you have heavy luggage, small children or elderly people with you.
The best advice is to ask when booking your accommodation whether on-snow transport is required for the property. You can also contact the Visitor Information Centre on (03) 5758 1202
HOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I TAKE?
A standard luggage allowance includes 2 pieces of luggage, 1 pair of skis or snow board (with boots and bindings) and 1 piece of hand luggage per person.
Excess luggage is charged at $5.00 per item.
Excess luggage is determined according to our large Eco-friendly Transit Carry Bags. These hold a number of bags of groceries, bedding, or other items you may need on a holiday in the snow.
These bags can be purchased for $2.00. An amount from every Transit Carry Bag sold will be contributed to Falls Creek Sustainability and Environmental Management Initiatives.
Don't forget Falls Creek has a licensed supermarket, so you can get all your supplies on-mountain. That makes your holiday at Falls just that little bit easier.
HOW DO I USE IT
- Head for the Accommodation Transfer Terminal - it is located on the Bogong High Plains Road as you drive into the resort with a large sign reading "Welcome to Falls Creek.
- Park in a space out front and unload your gear as directed onto a provided luggage trolley. An attendant will help you to a carpark once unloaded and return you to the Terminal via free shuttle.
- Head to the ticket window to purchase a ticket .
- Line up for Gate 1 or 2 as indicated on your ticket. The lines on the floor correspond with Green heading to Gate 1 and Yellow heading to Gate 2
CAN I JUST SEND MY LUGGAGE?
You can't send your luggage on its own but you can have just one person ride with your entire group's luggage. Simply purchase a one way or return ticket and any excess items to your standard allowance will be charged at $5 per item.
