Falls Creek cross country skiing begins at Windy Corner. The YMCA Windy Corner Cross Country Ski Centre combines a spacious well heated day shelter with a ski hire, ski school and café. The YMCA café offers a great range of healthy food and drinks, and full amenities, including showers and lockers are available. There are also public waxing facilities, complete with profile benches for the serious waxer.
When you enter the Windy Corner building you’ll see a trail-map and whiteboard adjacent to the notice board. This white board is updated daily with the latest information on the trail and conditions. The weather report and trail conditions are also updated every morning on this site. There are two suggestion/feedback boxes in Windy Corner; one maintained by FCRM the other by Parks Victoria.
The YMCA Windy Corner Cross Country Ski Centre opens at 8:00AM and shuts at 5:00PM each day. A full range of skis boots and poles are available from the ski hire. Toboggans and snow shoes are also available for hire. Ski tourers heading out overnight should leave their trip intentions with the YMCA Windy Corner staff.

The YMCA Windy Corner Cross Country Ski Centre has Falls Creek’s only dedicated cross country ski school. Their highly trained and experienced staff can cater for groups of any size and ability to provide an experience that will last a lifetime.
