World-class riders to compete in Stylewars - Official Home of Falls Creek Alpine Resort

(Updated Monday 9th August 2010)

Stylewars snowboard festival entices the world's most amazing freeriders to the Southern Hemisphere.

Amongst this year's invited athletes there's seven out of the top 10 on the TTR World Snowboard Tour including last year's winner of Stylewars Sebastien Toutant. He's one of a group of very talented French Canadians vying for top spots on the hotly contested world-wide series of freeride events.

To have such a talented group of athletes coming to Falls Creek, between 22-24 August, is a coup for the alpine resort. And in tandem with the hot riders there's some extremely talented musos who are also right at the top of the music scene in this country and overseas.

Richard Hegarty - Event Director of Stylewars said "I'm very confident now we've had a dump of snow the guys including Reuben Cameron will produce a course in the terrain park which will flow and be fun for the invited contingent who'll be attempting to win some of the prize money and title of 'Grandmaster'.

"Sebastien Toutant will get some some stiff competition from a previous Grandmaster Charles Reid and the up and coming younger riders who have committed to the event.

"Resort guests will see, first-hand, a bunch of the world's most accomplished freeriders (including some up and coming Australian riders) producing mind-boggling manoeuvres in the popular Ruined Castle Terrain Park.

"The park crew relish the opportunity to create features which bring the best out in the elite boarders who don¹t need a lot of encouragement to fly high through the air."
