With AUD $200 million in property development underway, Falls Creek is becoming Australia's fastest growing alpine resort and this winter stage one of the $50 million St Falls/All Seasons Gateway Project will open.
The Melbourne-based Zamamoco Boutique Property Development team in conjunction with L.U. Simon Builders are creating a remarkable addition to the alpine resort¹s array of apartments, cafes, bars and restaurants.
The first stage (the East Wing) will contain retail shops, supermarkets, restaurants and 38 apartments. The second stage of the St Falls development, which will include more apartments, a spa, Turkish baths, a gym and crèche, will be completed by 2010.
"This is a different type of construction being built by us at Falls Creek," said Callum Fraser of the Zamamoco Boutique Property Development team.
"It will provide numerous, much-needed community facilities such as a commercial centre and it will become an important element in the quest to attract additional year-round visitors to the resort.
"There will be something for everyone within St Falls. The product mix will entice solo investors, families and those seeking a trophy ski home."
St Falls - modelled on a North American ski village aka Beaver Creek-style where the key resort amenity, a mix of commercial and residential - is located at the foot of the resort's most popular ski lift.
"St Falls is a six story venture which is a major part of the redevelopment of Slalom Plaza and the alpine resort's interface with Bogong High Plains Road (which is currently being sealed), said Fraser .
"Located at the base of the Falls Creek Express Chairlift the contemporary design is made up of two buildings (the East Wing will open this winter) which will fan out like the giant wings of a Bogong Moth.
"Individual apartment terraces are orientated to preserve privacy and capture the magnificent vistas offered by the stunning natural environment.
"And they are ski in ski out guests can literally ski back to their apartment after they've had a memorable days' skiing or snowboarding."
The high quality apartments range from $400,000 to $1.4 million. An associated award-winning company Move-in will oversee each apartments¹ interior design from concept to completion. This innovative company is renowned for providing top quality items from soft to hard furnishings, electrical and white goods, bedding , linen, tableware, kitchen utensils and suitable artworks.
