About the Festival...
|
The Taste of Falls Creek festival showcases the regions best wineries,the produce, our renowned local restaurants and activities in the great outdoors in our beautiful alpine high country. It is a celebration of the lifestyle, the food, the wine and the breath-taking beauty that is North East Victoria, the Alpine High Country and Falls Creek.
This year the whole village will come alive as wineries, artists and local producers partner up with the local guest houses and restaurants for tastings, exhibitions, wine maker’s dinners and open house inspections. Village shuttles will run continuously throughout the Village or guests can easily meander through the streets to the various venues. A number of musicians will entertain the guests in various venues while they sample the food, the wine and enjoy the local hospitality.
The village bowl will be a hub for activities with the chair lift running for sight seeing and to give mountain bike enthusiasts a lift to the top, the skate ramp also in the village bowl will have demo’s and coaching clinics. A whole range of other activities will run including scenic helicopter flights, high ropes and rock climbing,guided eco walks, bungy trampoline, champagne sunset tours and kids club for the little ones.
The festival will run from Friday evening 18th Jan until mid afternoon on Sunday. Friday night will include live music and wine and food functions, On Saturday tastings, displays and activities will run from11.00am to 5.00pm, followed by the wine maker’s dinners and live music. Sunday morning will be a champagne brunch along with various activities and final celebrations. Entry to the event is free and everyone is welcome for a weekend of food, wine, lifestyle and adventure.
It is a perfect time to escape to the mountains and experience the alpine summer with long sunny days and cool nights.
