| The team behind the award-winning Summit ridge Restaurant at Falls Creek have been recognised for consistently offering excellent service and top notch cuisine. They've previously been recognised for leading the resorts fine dining establishments with awards such as Best Alpine Dining (Three beanies best overall restaurant experience) in the annual Skiwatch awards, was the first restaurant to be inducted into the "Alpine Style Hall of Fame", and was a finalist in the Restaurant and Catering Excellence Awards in 2006 and 2009. To top off a swag of awards it has just won Best Restaurant 2010 (Informal Dining Regional) in the annual Restaurant & Catering Excellence Awards. This very coveted title was bestowed at the prestigious and celebrated awards presentation in Melbourne at the Crown Casino by Restaurant & Catering. Under its current ownership, Summit Ridge has been the recipient of several distinguished awards including three consecutive years of being judged the Best Alpine restaurant in Victoria. However, its outstanding and notable success has not been confined to Victoria. The restaurant's very enthusiastic and dedicated proprietors, Simon and Wendy Rawlings, have very simple, albeit calculated, philosophies about food and price. They are the prion of unique, memorable food, a wine list of boutique labels to suit all tastes and budgets, good service, a comfortable and enjoyable ambience and dedicated, amicable staff. Chef Michael Newby's culinary skills and use of local produce plays a very successful role in the Summit Ridge fare. In addition to its outstanding success, Summit Ridge was awarded a 1 Glass rating in the 2008 Wine List of the Year Awards in Gourmet Traveller Wine, and a 2 Glass rating in the 2009 Wine List of the Year Awards.
