|
Falls Creek is Victoria’s largest alpine resort and a major tourist destination in North East Victoria.
|
Surrounded by the Bogong High Plains and the Alpine National Park, Falls Creek is a gateway to the largest alpine area in Australia. With the village situated 1600 metres above sea level and ranging in elevation from 1210 to 1842 meters, Falls Creek is the ultimate destination all year round.
In summer, the temperature is on average ten degrees cooler than the valley below, making it a great place to escape the summer heat. Whether you’re exploring the wild flowers, driving to the summit of Mt McKay, fishing in the dams and creeks, kayaking on Rocky Valley Lake, or hiking to historic huts, there’s something for everyone.
In addition to Falls Creek's impressive range of activites, Green Season sees the resort play host to an incredible range of social, cultural and world class sporting events. Events such as the 3 Peaks Challenge and 2XU Falls Creek Triathlon see thousands of entrants from around the country and abroad flock to Falls Creek to compete against the best. For those prefering the fun and family life at Falls creek there are favourites such as the annual Billy Cart Derby, Easter Carnival and Mile High Dragon Boat Championships at Rocky Valley Lake.
Whether the snow if falling or metling, there is something for everyone at Falls Creek
