Big kids and little tackers are invited to participate in the Billy Cart Derby at Falls Creek Alpine Resort on Saturday January 10, 2009.
Whilst the resort is well known for its ski in ski out attribute in winter the picturesque village roads are clear of snow in summer and are ideal for billy cart-style events.

 Fathers who want to relive their youth, or their thrill seeking offspring, are being cajoled into building a billy cart that'll withstand the rigour of the resort's 'downhill track'.
The creative minds at Falls Creek which come up with persuasive reasons to visit the state's largest alpine resort, surrounded by the largest alpine park (and highest peaks) in Victoria, say there’ll be races for all ages, from the minis, to the fossils, and everything in between.
They'll even have ‘loaner’ billy carts available for those who come empty handed, plus loads of great prizes, trophies and family-friendly fun for all! And it isn't just the billy carting (which is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser) which is going to attract visitors that weekend.
In the resort's entertainment precinct, the Village Bowl, Ruckus, a Melbourne Country and Western cover band, will provide the music to accompany the celebration recognising 120th birthday of the ionic Wallace's Hut, the oldest remaining cattlemen's hut on the Bogong High Plains.
Ruckus, an award winning five piece country rock outfit, play a mix of Southern Rock and Country. The bands repertoire features an eclectic mix of southern rock and country covers as well as a growing list of awesome Aussie originals and instrumentals.
The band developed a strong and loyal following through their blistering live performances and easy going manner offstage, but also through the live wire antics of their award winning singer Sandie Himbury and the awesome playing
of their three time Golden Fiddle award winning, Czech born fiddle virtuoso, Marcy Taylor.
What an eclectic mix, high speed billy carting and high octane entertainment by a band that's gained a strong and loyal following through their blistering live performances.
