After another fresh falls of snow overnight (accompanied by chilly weather) there's some very nice pockets of dry powder today.
|
The Falls Creek Ski Patrol is reporting excellent conditions for skiing & boarding today. Albeit very cold and they (the patrollers) recommend snow enthusiasts dress appropriately.
Currently the alpine resort's average snow depth has topped the metre mark with the 13cm that fell overnight. Tonight it is the eagerly awaited Stylewars rail comp under lights in the Village Bowl.
Between 7-9pm the resort's guests and mountain staff will see some of the world's best boarders do what they do well.

Today's snow conditions were, where it was sheltered, some of the best that skiers and boarders have had this winter.
|
And tomorrow could be one of the best days of winter if the forecasted bitterly cold weather and more snow eventuates.
Anywhere where there are deep pockets of light snow it is sensational riding. The abrupt change in the weather at alpine resorts such as Falls Creek has had a huge influence on the operators of all the snow-related businesses.
Before it was what's going on with the weather? Now it's as good as it gets on the south-facing slopes at arguably the most picturesque winter playground in the Victorian Alps.
The world's most exciting freeriders are also grateful (some more relieved than grateful as they've come a long way) for the fresh snow. It will be a huge boost for the annual Stylewars event which kicked-off today.
For the next four days there will some pretty crazy boarders getting some big air in the Ruined Castle Terrain Park.
