Annual Rossignol Cup for young skiers and boarders - Official Home of Falls Creek Alpine Resort

(Updated Friday 9th July 2010)

Today's Rossignol Children's Cup is an opportunity for up-and-coming ski racers and boarders to participate in a competitive (but fun) environment.

Numerous school-aged students who start their term at the Falls Creek Primary School next week, and kids who have taken part in the Falls Creek-based Race Club holiday program, will try their luck through the gates on the Nastar race course.

For the older kids (above 16 years) and parents of the younger children, who entered in the Rossignol Children¹s Cup, there's another annual event the Cranky Charlie Cup which they are invited to enter.

Last week's first round of the Interschools Grand Prix Series at Falls Creek was dominated by the youngsters who are members of the Falls Creek Race Club.

A similar scenario is expected tomorrow with about 60 enthusiastic youngsters entering the Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 year old age groups.

On Saturday a major fund raising event will be held at Gateway adjacent to the Falls Creek-based Race Club to provide ongoing support. The contribution from the annual fund-raiser (from generous donations by numerous Falls Creek businesses) is used to pay coaches to travel with the kids to races at other resorts, radios, video analysis and ongoing upgrade of club facilities.
