At 1600m this is the highest significant body of water in Australia. Just a short distance from the heart of the village, the lake provides a playground for a range of aquatic activities.
There are also incredible lakes at nearby Pretty Valley and Bogong Village, plus the village aqueducts, nearby rivers and waterfalls to enjoy.

Rods are available for hire at the Visitor Information Centre and bait can also be purchased. Pretty Valley Lake and the aqueducts also offer great trout fishing.

Launching ramps on either side of the dam wall allow for easy launching and most types of boats up to 10HP capacity are allowed. Take a leisurely spin or find that perfect spot to drop a line in the deep
Bring your bathers and take a leap off the pier. The water is cool and refreshing on a hot day and a shallow descent makes for excellent and safe paddling for children

The main shore area features a grassy bank that is perfect for relaxing by the water, plus a number of picnic tables and toilet block.
