Falls Creek - NFC Ready Resort!

Falls Creek is the first Australian resort - or even town for that matter, to become enabled with NFC - the newest smart phone technology to take off across the world.

This means Falls Creek is the first town in Australia to enable its businesses with the very latest in smartphone technology! NFC (or Near Field Communications) is brand new wireless technology for your smart phone, allowing you to access information with a simple tap!

Each one of the NFC stickers contains a tiny microchip that transmits data to your phone when you tap it close enough. Most new models of Android phones are NFC-enabled. The newest iPhones are not yet NFC-enabled but the next model is expected to be when it is released.

Falls Creek's retail, rental, food and beverage businesses have now been set up to try straight away. If you have an NFC-ready phone, simply tap your phone on the tap-spot and give it a go!

If you don’t have an NFC-ready phone, we have also included a QR code so that you can access the info too. To scan the code just use any one of a number of QR Code reading apps available for download.

The future for this technology is great and Falls Creek is proud to be one of the front-runners in adopting new technologies.

Keep an eye out on your next visit for the tap stickers at our 50+ NFC-enabled businesses at Falls Creek!

Look out for these posters throughout the village on your next visit.
