Tournament Format
|
The Mile High Cricket Match will be a fun, family-friendly, knockout tournament format with winning teams advancing through to the next round until only one team remains!
|
Teams
|
• 6 players per team (If you don’t have a team of six don’t worry we can organize to get you on a team)
• Open to all ages and abilities
|
Tournament Rules
|
Batting:
• Batters in pairs (3 pairs per team)
• Each team faces 12 x 4 ball overs
• Each batting pair receives 4 overs
• Each batting pair starts with 50 runs
• A hit over the boundary is worth 10 runs
• Batters lose 20 runs if they are caught outside
the boundary
• Batters lose 5 runs per dismissal and change of ends
• No LBW
• Bat at one end only
Bowling:
• Each bowler bowls 2 overs
• Under arm bowling is allowed
• When bowled, ball must land on batters side of
marked line or no ball declared
• Wides and NO balls are not re-bowled
(except in the last over).
• Wides and No balls are worth two runs
• Next delivery after a wide or no ball is a free hit to
the batter (only run out rule applies with a free hit)
• Bowlers may only have a maximum of 4 steps in
a run up
Fielding:
• Fielding team must at all times have 2 players on
leg side, 2 players on off side, 1 wicketkeeper and 1
bowler
• All fielders rotate clockwise at the end of each over
• No fielder within 10m of batter

How to get there?
|
The Mile High Cricket Match will be held on hallowed turf of the Nordic Bowl at Falls Creek. You can access the Nordic Bowl from Windy Corner via the Bogong High Plains road or by walking along the Aqueduct from the Village (approx 1km).

A BBQ lunch will be available on the day. Please remember to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and be prepared for changeable weather. Some shade will be available and feel free to bring a comfy chair or picnic blanket to sit on.
