Make the trek from Mt Hotham to Falls Creek with a 25km epic across the High Plains.


The Alpine National Park is a spectacular setting for a cross-country hike. This self-guided tour offers an incredible way to experience it with a day-long trek between Mt Hotham and Falls Creek Alpine resorts.

Highlights include passing spectacular features such as the Razorback Ridge, Mt Feathertop and the basalt column structures that give Ruined Castle its name. The Tawonga and other historic huts and mines along the way give a glimpse into the history of the High Country and any number of wildlife can be encountered - from pygmy possums to wild brumbies and emus.

This self-guided walk is offered for $45 with trip notes and transportation to Hotham. Shuttles run every Thursday and Saturday throughout january. Group bookings can be arranged on any day with 24 hours notice.

How do I get there?

Shuttle leaves from the Slalom Plaza Day Shelter which is located on the Bogong High Plains Rd inbetween Quay West and the Falls Creek Police Station. Closest parking is in the Slalom day car park.
