Getting Here by ROAD

Falls Creek is the closest alpine resort to Brisbane, an easy day’s drive from Sydney & four and a half hours drive from Melbourne. There are lots of options to get to Falls from driving all or part of the way to letting someone else take care of that for you.

Drive

The road to Falls Creek from Mount Beauty gently winds uphill for 32 kms, so take your time and please drive carefully. During winter it is compulsory to carry snow chains however the road is regularly cleared of snow as required and chains are rarely fitted.
No petrol is available at Falls Creek so make sure you fill up before you come up. In winter, diesel vehicles should fill up with Alpine Diesel from Mt Beauty or other local suppliers to ensure their vehicle works correctly in the cold conditions.

Helicopter Service - from Melbourne or Albury
|
A new service by Bright Helicopters allows you to transfer to one of their helicopters for a quick trip straight to the resort. A flight from Albury to Falls Creek is around 30 minutes flying over Victoria's highest peak, Mt Bogong, with spectacular views of Victoria's high country. These charter flights are $1,000 from Albury with the same cost for day trips (fly in and out return same day). Flights from Melbourne to Falls Creek cost $3500.
