To obtain an early bird entry price for the 2009 Kangaroo Hoppet, the first of the prestigious Worldloppet series of international cross country ski meets, you must register by midnight tonight.

A trial run was carried out with the Mt Beauty-based half marathon producing a positive outcome (reducing the workload on the volunteers) and it is now providing secure credit card facility for participants in the forthcoming Kangaroo Hoppet.
The marathon-length 42km Kangaroo Hoppet has to-date received entries from at least 12 overseas countries and the organisers are quitely confident they'll begin the 2009/10 Worldloppet series with a healthy number of cross country skiers. Currently they are 10% up on this time last year.
Worldloppet is a union of the most famous cross country ski races in the world and last year attracted a record-breaking 100,000 skiers to events held each year in Austria, Italy, Germany, Japan, Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Norway, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic and Australia.
