There's an annual opportunity for budding artists (or people who appreciate art) to mingle with some of Melbourne's more accomplished members of the arts fraternity between 6-8 March.

A number of the artists in residence (for the weekend) include Janet Burchill, Jennifer McCamley, Tom Alberts, Lisa Barmby, Anna Ephraim, Peter Bennetts, David Hugh Thomas and Jo Daniell.
Their work can often be seen hung at galleries around Melbourne and whilst they are at Falls Creek they encourage the resort's guests to interact with them.
The event coordinator Peter Bennetts said:"Falls Creek has become known as the ‘Arts Mountain’ and each of the artists will respond to the environment in different ways.
"Over the four years of Artist camps 22 artists have been introduced to the mountain and the Falls Creek community and, if nothing else, have had ignited in them a love for Falls Creek that may even exceed mine!
"Artists are selected for producing work that will easily adapt to the alpine landscape and who will relish the participation with community.
"They'll walk, draw, took notes and photos, read about it and immerse themselves generally in the High Country.
"All genres will be represented, so photography, painting, video and sculpture make up each year’s body of work. It is traditional for one of the artist donate their work to the community’s collection.
"It is the intention of mine to see Falls Creek adopt a new moniker: ‘the ‘mountain of ideas‘.
“Ideas of environment, technology, creativity and sustainability which are all related and together contribute to our sense of place."
