SNOW has Falls Creek Falls Creek and not a moment too soon!
It has been a frustratingly patient wait for mother nature to bring the goods in season 2015. Treating us wholeheartedly with lovely fresh conditions for opening weekend, the gods have been less than generous in the snow stakes for the rest of June.
Now into July it looks as if things may be turning the corner. The long awaited snowy conditions set in late last night and by early morning 5cm was already on the ground. Further falls throughout the day (with intermittent periods of clear sky to remind us all just how pretty the white trees look against a blue backdrop) have put the figure closer to the 10cm mark. Coupled with 48cm of manmade snow on the slopes it is a great result for those keen to get out amongst it.
What this will mean for the snowfields will wait until the morning. With good snowmaking conditions likely for a third straight night the question on everybody’s lips – when will more terrain open, will hopefully not be far away from an answer.
Until then, keep snow dancing and looking to the skies, the temps are set to be cold all week and another snowy system settling in on Saturday.
